Nice week in the woods

I enjoyed my time out of the heat, but the painting was a struggle. I use to think I was able to paint river scenes pretty easily. It seems years ago I was able to get good effects without too much trouble. This certainly tested my abilities....trying to get the color of water in sunlight as compared to water in shadow and on top of it seeing that the embankment color was quite similiar to the sunlight water making it that much harder. During my time there a kid came by and sat on the rock on the other side of the river and added to the scene, a nostalgia of calm worriless relaxation of my youth.
